The New York Post is reporting that a “community refrigerator” set up by New York state Sen. Jessica Ramos to offer free meals to those in need has been vandalized.

The full-size fridge was set up in front of state Sen. Jessica Ramos’ district office in East Elmhurst in October, and was staffed by dozens of volunteers to provide free meals to the poor.
But when The Post visited Saturday morning, there were food containers and spilled rice on the ground, and the doors of the fridge and the electrical grid in the back were “destroyed,” according to Ramos, who called it “an act of hatred.”
We’re surprised it lasted since October.
Fully predictable.

It’s just property. I’m sure insurance will cover it.

No matter how many times they try this it always ends the same.

This is why NYC can never have nice things.

Under the new "justice reform" laws championed by progressives like Senator Ramos almost nothing will happen to the perps if they're ever found.
— Dave (@Dave_in_718) January 2, 2021
And thanks to the #bailreform Sen Jessica Ramos passed the vandals will be released almost immediately after getting caught.

Probably bears. Out here in the country side, if you leave a fridge with food in it outside, the bears will tear it up.
— Chuck White (@Chuck_Blanco) January 2, 2021
This would never work in Toronto. The raccoons would loot the fridge long before vandals showed up.

Because why would they want anything good for their community

Did anyone expect anything else from “vandals” who have been handed a city to do as they please with?
— jackandpeach (@jackandpeach) January 2, 2021
Her greatest accomplishment to date. She left a fridge on the sidewalk ?

What a dumb idea. Then again NY politicians are known for those.

Wait, historic landmark, house of worship and tourism locale = protestors. Refrigerator = vandals. Got it . pic.twitter.com/LADsdgKAQT

Good catch.
My biggest curiosity: what are remaining jars that neither community member nor vandal dared take?

While we’re at it, let’s check in on Seattle:
