Here’s some news that slipped past our radar earlier this week but it certainly seems worth talking about. An Alabama lawmaker has written a bill that would require men to have vasectomies at age 50 — or after fathering three children, whichever comes first. Of course, the whole thing is a stunt to allegedly mirror the state’s pro-life Human Rights Protection Act. If the government can have control over women’s bodies, then it should have control over men’s reproductive health as well.

An Alabama lawmaker has authored a bill that would require each man to undergo a vasectomy at age 50 or “after the birth of his third biological child, whichever comes first.”
Under Rep. Rolanda Hollis’ proposal, men also would have to pay for the procedure themselves.
…
In a statement, Hollis said her proposal is meant to “neutralize” the abortion ban bill and “send a message that men should not be legislating what women do with their bodies.”
As we said, it’s a stunt, but the math doesn’t quite work out; no one has proposed sterilizing women or limiting the number of children they have.
Not sure why the governor is shown in the article's main picture when this nonsensical proposal was suggested by one of Alabama's lunatic Democrats.

amend it, requiring women get their tubes tied.
See where their equality lies.

Only if women get their tubes tied at 30
— snacksheet (@Snacksheet) February 16, 2020
I’m good with it. Have women get tied up at 35. Let’s go all out. To hell with being in a free country let’s take all our freedoms and liberties.

“DONT CONTROL WOMENS BODIES”
“Here’s a bill requiring vasectomies for men” ???

Survey says NO, forcing medical procedures on people is beyond fascist

But if you believe we’re literally living in “The Handmaid’s Tale” like so many do, the government is forcing you to have children.

Why ‘make’ a man get a vasectomy? No one ‘makes’ women get an abortion. ??♀️
— Colleen Hudelson (@raesgma02) February 16, 2020
See, the difference is a woman has a significant influence over whether or not she will seek out an abortion in her life, except for a few rare instances.
A vasectomy is different, and you know it.
It'd be like mandating every woman had to get an IUD w/o say on its removal.

Fine. Then women should be spayed after their first abortion of convenience.

No comparison. One is preventative and the other reactive.
Like comparing healthy eating and daily workouts to doing liposuction after lifestyle of beer, pizza, and Big Macs.

Abortion is murder
Forcing a vasectomy is mutilation
This is proof many do not understand murder

Why doesn’t it surprise me that Hollis is a Democrat which the article for some reason left out. Democrats mock and have no regard for the life of the unborn. It’s not about what a woman does with her body, but what she does to her baby’s body. ???
— Gina Pate (@ginajpate) February 16, 2020
A man should have to be fixed like a dog so I won't have to murder his baby.

More wacko democrats

These people are insane. What a waste of taxpayer time and money.

Are you sure this isn’t a Babylon Bee story?
— Jimmie (@ithika0399) February 16, 2020
We get the intent of the stunt, but we still don’t see the correlation. Abortion is never government-mandated, so where’s the comparison in having the government sterilizing men?
