There’s a lot of pearl-clutching going on over a shooting target in the “police supply” section of gun store depicting a person holding a cell phone and taking video. The heart, lungs, and brain are even highlighted. Obviously, police are being trained to shoot at people catching video of their evil deeds.

The aggressor has now determined that anyone filming racist, disgusting behavior is the enemy

Holding police accountable.

But what if … and we’re just saying if … this is one of those targets that police are trained not to shoot?
Is it possible that this is for use in training for shoot vs no-shoot situations?

To be fair this product is listed as “threat/no threat” where the other side is an armed, aiming target. https://t.co/Esr0a11dL9

This is a threat/no threat trainer to teach police not to shoot people holding non-weapon objects like phones (https://t.co/3R9V6fIVDl)

Probably part of a shoot/no shoot system, it goes with a silhouette of one pointing a gun. Training to recognize a threat.

this is a training board where police are supposed to not shoot this side

In case people are not familiar, this target appears to be designed as part of a threat/no threat training system. The companion target has the same outline pointing a gun. It's meant for you to train to be sure of a threat before shooting. https://t.co/VRGAinXBnI https://t.co/77QIvZqCCH

That's a threat / no threat target. Designed to be used on a system that flips the target to a man with a gun. Police are trained not to shoot the guy with the phone…ideally. pic.twitter.com/0QZGGTlSnC

It's called a "threat/no threat" target for training purposes, and it is 100% something you should want to see in the the "police supply" section. pic.twitter.com/gKJLP1Gnpn

Maybe we can dial down the outrage on this one?
