Bill de Blasio not winning many fans by explaining why the subway churro vendor was handcuffed

As Twitchy reported Sunday, police officers were caught on video arresting a woman selling churros in the New York City subway. Eventually, the woman was handcuffed and her cart seized as evidence. According to Gothamist, this elderly woman is a repeat offender.

Kat Timpf wrote a piece in National Review arguing that the law should be changed so that no one is handcuffed for selling churros.

The public’s sympathy seems to lie with the churro lady, but former presidential candidate and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio backed up the cops (for once). For a guy who says New York is a sanctuary city, he didn’t have any wiggle room for an unlicensed subway vendor.

Now he’s tough on crime.

We’re glad to see the mayor supporting the police, but we’re awfully glad his sham run for president is over.
