We had to do a little research, but Mark Humphries is a comedian and TV show host out of Australia, and he’s created a sketch called “The Greta Thunberg Hotline” for “adults angry at a child.”
If there was any question that Thunberg is immune from criticism because she’s only 16, Humphries made that clear by noting that she’s a child in the title of his bit. Anyway, have a look. It’s mildly clever, but it really seems to miss the mark about why people are worked up; they’re not angry at a child, they’re angry at the adults behind the child.

1. Wow this is painfully unfunny. Yikes
2. Y’all still don’t get it. We’re not mad at Greta. We’re mad at y’all for using her as a human shield to push an agenda. It’s very simple. https://t.co/DMIYx8PBzq

If we’re angry, we’re angry at the people who have convinced a child that there’s no point in going to school because the planet will be uninhabitable regardless, and the people who continue to fuel her anxiety for a socialist agenda.

I feel sad for her, that the adults responsible for her, who should want the best for her, exploit her in such a cruel manner. Whoever writes "her" tweets, yes, you

If the claims of climate change alarmists had any merit, they wouldn't have to make them through a 16-year old sock puppet who nobody is allowed to challenge.
— Jane Galt (@WhoisJaneGalt) September 26, 2019
She's not trying to save the planet. She's pushing an ideology she believes in and financed by who will take advantage out of its implementation.
— Sinbad the Sailor (@chrisachilli) September 26, 2019
In the style of a Motte and Bailey argument the left exploits a child to promote an ideologically inspired view of climate science. Any criticism is defended not by counter argument or evidence but by falling back to the irrelevant truism that one should not be cruel to a child.

None of this would happen if @GretaThunberg called the CLIMATE CHANGE HELPLINE instead for being angry 'we' took her childhood 🙂 #FuckOffGreta #GretaThunberg

#GretaThunberg needs the anger management helpline more than anyone else #fact

Weak.
— Dr Beak ? (@DoctaBeak) September 27, 2019
Yea. Maybe it's not the child people are angry at, but her handlers. You know, the people using her to push an agenda. It's so obvious she's reading what someone else has written for her. She's an actress playing a part to bring about global socialism.

I mean, the top 5 countries she's after about climate change just happen to be the richest, but not the top polluters. Funny that. pic.twitter.com/oQcIb5XkWx

Why is the solution always give all my money and personal freedom to the state?

Ummmmmm. Was that a comedy routine?

Not bad, now do one for people who want to throw maga hat wearing kids into wood chippers
— ???????James McNeil??????? (@Ghost82uk) September 27, 2019
what we need is a way to report adults for child exploitation
— DJ Biscuit (@wbvt97fm) September 28, 2019
Trying too hard. The human shield tactic isn't working anymore.

Meanwhile there are children in Syria, Iraq, Palestine etc.. whose childhoods have actually been lost.

That’s because they have no sense of humor.

Yeah, I’m an adult. I can process feelings & handle conflict without melting down like my toddler. I don’t t have to yell at someone or need a helpline to deal with issues. Clearly, they’re mirror imaging how they cope with their issues. They need to grow up.
— Phaidra Lancaster (@PhaidraLinKS) September 28, 2019
I actually feel for her. As a child they scared me with ozone holes and acid rain. That’s what makes me mad. She’s scared for no reason. She’ll realize it some day (8 years from now) but will be so invested she’ll have no choice but to keep up the charade.

There seems to be a striking lack of self awareness on display in this vid

When you post memes of her you totally nullify your point #2 by intensifying her ‘being used’
— Joahn Kari (@karikjojo) September 28, 2019
They really don’t get it.
— Ms. Laura (@LtotheL2) September 28, 2019
They get it. It's in their playbook. This is just part of the con.
