Laura Ingalls Wilder's name removed from book award due to 'anti-Native sentiments in her work'

The BBC reports that the U.S. Association for Library Service to Children voted unanimously over the weekend to remove author Laura Ingalls Wilder’s name from a children’s book award, renaming it the Children’s Literature Legacy award. The association could no longer overlook the very problematic “anti-Native and anti-Black sentiments in her work.”

President Trump actually made a very good point when talking about Confederate monuments coming down in the middle of the night. Where does it end? We still don’t know about Jefferson, but we’d never imagined that the author of the “Little House on the Prairie” series of books would be disappeared like this.
