We’re old enough to have seen the episode of “The View” where Whoopi Goldberg explained that when director Roman Polanski had unlawful sex with a 13-year-old girl, it wasn’t “rape-rape.” It might have been “rape,” but at least it wasn’t rape-rape, if you get her drift.
Polanski’s still being celebrated by the film community even in 2019 following the #MeToo movement that took down Harvey Weinstein, and Variety took note of his latest award:
