We don’t have to tell you the irony of everyone in Hollywood being pro-gun control while pumping out movie after movie glamorizing guns and gun violence. But it seems the mass shootings in El Paso and Dayton have compelled Universal to pull ads for “The Hunt,” and update of “The Most Dangerous Game” in which wealthy elites can pay to hunt down red-state deplorables.
NEW: @UniversalPics halts ads for Hilary Swank film that satirizes elites killing off red-state 'deplorables'https://t.co/RWKOx0covm

The Hollywood Reporter reports:
In the wake of a trio of deadly massacres, the studio is evaluating its strategy for the R-rated Blumhouse satire in which elites stalk “deplorables.”
“Did anyone see what our ratf**ker-in-chief just did?” one character asks early in the screenplay for The Hunt, a Universal Pictures thriller set to open Sept. 27. Another responds: “At least The Hunt’s coming up. Nothing better than going out to the Manor and slaughtering a dozen deplorables.”
In the aftermath of mass shootings within days of one another that shocked and traumatized the nation, Universal is re-evaluating its strategy for the certain-to-be-controversial satire. The violent, R-rated film from producer Jason Blum’s Blumhouse follows a dozen MAGA types who wake up in a clearing and realize they are being stalked for sport by elite liberals.
That sounds like it will really be a big hit in flyover country.
Whoever greenlit this pile of garbage should be fired.

The original title for the movie was Red State vs Blue State. I kid you not. It's like they want chaos and a civil war so badly that they can't hide it anymore. https://t.co/mG5vT5XL6a

The left has no interest in co-existing weather by gun point or simple cultural hegemony they are seeking the same outcome.#walkaway

Why not scrap the film? We do not need more political division in this country, especially at the degree where bloodshed is literally incentivized.

It doesn’t change what’s in their hearts. Those people are sick and dangerous.

To be clear, they’re just halting the marketing campaign, not the production right? ?♂️

It’s still due out in September, as far as we know. They just pulled the ads out of respect for the victims of the weekend’s mass shootings.
STILL due to release Sept 27?!? Forget the "sensitivity of the ads". Why should a film like this even be written?

Well if this is the crap they’re going to start producing they can kiss goodbye anyone giving up their guns.

Dear God. I’m just in awe that anyone would make a movie like this. It’s beyond disgusting and savage and that doesn’t even describe how horrible of a concept this movie is.

The idea that Hollwierdos thought it acceptable to finance and produce this film should tell you everything you need to know about that human cesspool.

“Satire” is just a code word for the Libs. Make no mistake this IS their agenda
— Jeff Grove (@grove1jeff) August 8, 2019
I'm sorry but I didn't see anything satirical about it! We need to not let them get away with trying to play it down now…they said what they meant and they meant what they said. STOP letting them off the hook!

“Satirizes”… wonder how they’d describe it if the roles in this movie were reversed? It’s a free country & they can produce whatever films they want but it’s definitely in poor taste to promote it rn, at a minimum.

How could Hillary Swank have allowed herself to be in a movie like this? How could Universal even think this is OK? My dollar is my vote. And I vote Universal out of business.

Here’s the trailer if you’re still interested. (Caution: Explicit gun violence!) Our guess is the “deplorables” win out in the end, but not before taking a few losses.
Who lives? Who dies? We decide. From @Blumhouse, the producer of Get Out and The Purge, @TheHuntMovie opens in theaters September 27. #TheHuntMovie pic.twitter.com/oxECAXj9jb

Our question: How many “elites” even know how to load a gun?
