Hot take: View illegal immigration as reparations for inequality and climate change

We put the word “illegal” in the headline because there’d be no incentive for The New York Times to publish an op-ed encouraging legal immigration. So here’s an idea (from an associate professor at NYU’s journalism school, the same place that hired Talia Lavin and Lauren Duca to teach): look at immigration as reparations for everything bad that’s ever happened or will happen because of “the West.”

The op-ed was published a couple of weeks ago, but the tweet is still making the rounds and adding to that ratio.
