Two things we already knew about 2020 candidate Elizabeth Warren before Monday night’s CNN town hall: she’s a big fan of “universal” everything — pre-K, college, health care, child care, whatever — and she thinks a wealth tax on only the “tippy-top” of earners will pay for it all. Just hold up the richest of the rich by the ankles, shake the money out of their pockets, and there’ll be plenty of cash to make America a utopia for all.
That’s her campaign platform, and she’s sticking to it:

Impossible. If you have a trillion dollars left over after you pay for all that then it means the wealthiest Americans would have to make over $50 trillion. US GDP is only $20 trillion so you would have to tax every American, European and Chinese person 2% more at least.
