You might be among the many conservatives who believe President Trump caved by reaching a deal to reopen the government without any guarantee of funding for a border wall. Us? We’re not happy about it.
On Saturday, the Washington Post ran a piece essentially confirming that Chuck and Nancy had won, and that all Trump had done through the shutdown was to prove to the American people how much they need government.
By pursuing shutdown, Trump revealed how much America depends on government https://t.co/sEAXhs4YOj

You could also write a similar piece saying how hard the mainstream media went out of its way to find weeping D.C. taxi drivers and furloughed government workers standing in food lines.
But did the shutdown really demonstrate how much Americans need government? Or was it something else?
It actually showed the complete opposite.
People just didn't like the reality of workers being impacted. https://t.co/8eIEcwqEi2

Something only people who live in DC believe. https://t.co/gHyDLw9Ckv

The left thinks this is a GOOD thing.

No, it revealed how much government workers depend on government.
— Politiwars (@politiwars) January 26, 2019
Exactly.
No it exposed how many employees the federal government has.

Not really. It mainly showed how government shutdowns affect those who…..WORK FOR THE GOVERNMENT.
It also showed that many federal employees have no emergency fund or backup plan if they happen to lose their government job…..like losing a job is never a possibility. https://t.co/jA2emhEO3t

If half the departments we’re privatized, the cuts to the work force would be dramatic and efficiency would increase exponentially. If the existing work force couldn’t handle real world, then goodbye.

It reveals the overreach of government and how the government controls so many aspects of our lives. Big government is not a good thing.

If this is true, then it’s a frightening thing and far from what the Founders envision for these united STATES. https://t.co/ppoG2ZLFBS

Our nation’s founders must be turning over in their graves at the idea of a “free” people being dependent on an almighty federal government.
What have we done to ourselves?
— John Hornbuckle (@JohnRHornbuckle) January 26, 2019
We don’t depend on government.

“by cutting off the heroin supply it was revealed how much the addict depends on heroin.” https://t.co/XfXYCGAhDT

So the less power and responsibility we give to the government, the fewer harmful impacts there will be when it shuts down. https://t.co/A7m57SX1Ia

Yet somehow 90% of the country didn’t realize it was technically “shut down”. https://t.co/0LKWQ0diCV

Really? All of heard were stories of federal workers and people trashing national parks. https://t.co/nJcNYNt9zW

Only for people who fly often. Those that don’t, really didn’t notice.
— commonsense (@commonsense258) January 26, 2019
The only thing I noticed is as how life goes on without it. We can live without big government and live well, but nah. Let’s have incompetent politicians run things.

“Depends”
How much did we discover
A) how inconsequential some areas are?
B) how much absolute intrusion was in other areas? https://t.co/uaGKIxkT0l— Yoenis Cespedes (@AppFlyer) January 26, 2019
Should a government "of the people" EVER be dependent on government? Please share your thoughts. https://t.co/GzvZbGhbin
