It was just a few days ago that The Intercept’s Glenn Greenwald was asking the same question: even after sites like Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight started throwing around the suggestion that these were the “Moscow Midterms,” Democrats just seemed to drop the Russian collusion investigation like a hot rock.
Greenwald found the Democrats’ sudden silence on Russian interference “noteworthy and revealing given the gravity of their accusations.” Wasn’t Putin essentially controlling the outcome of the election and using President Trump as his puppet?
Now Sharyl Attkisson is asking the same question:
Why is (almost) nobody talking about Trump-Russia collusion? I'm ok either way, I just would like to know why it was the #1 most important story in the world for so long and now it's not.
— Sharyl Attkisson (@SharylAttkisson) November 5, 2018
Because Mueller, as is his professional responsibility, has gone quiet before an election. It's still one of, if not the most, important story, but the election horse race is swamping it.
— Tom Nichols (@RadioFreeTom) November 5, 2018
I don't mean Mueller. If the pundits/politicians/media considered it as important as they say/said they did, then I'd just think they'd be raising it in their issue conversations. But all I hear is economy, racism, immigration, jobs, etc.
— Sharyl Attkisson (@SharylAttkisson) November 5, 2018
It’s pretty obvious how the Democrats have all pivoted back to health care and people with preexisting conditions. Where did all the other topics go?
I think they had to pull back on it because of the midterms, Mueller has nothing. Nada.

Because they realized that the American people saw through their B.S. so they had to move on

If there was anything sure as hell it would have been released before midterms…..#NOTHINGBURGER
— Jeff Whittridge (@Johnny_Beerball) November 5, 2018
Because it was a HUGE Nothingburger and we had to move on to the next "crisis" that would help Dems. in the midterms. You gotta keep up!
— Jennifer Rhoades (@spokeninred) November 5, 2018
It didn't even have to be released. There would have been leaks galore to imply there was collusion. They haven't even got anything they can spin and all the evidence of collusion and wrongdoing points back at Hillary, the FBI & the DOJ, They'd never leak those actual facts.
— Ed LaRose (@metaphorsbwithu) November 5, 2018
Because it was a hoax.
— Gloria (@glorialbrtn) November 5, 2018
Because it’s being quietly ignored. Which means it’s not an issue.
— rebelgirl (@rebelgirl1776) November 5, 2018
1. It has been proven to be false. 2. The Democrats internal polling shows public doesn’t care. 3. It will be #1 again if the Dems win back the house. #REDWave

100% right. Well put.
— ❌Antony Bradshaw❌ (@braddy32) November 5, 2018
Because people have finally figured out there's no "there there," and are trying to get some distance from their Russiagate hysteria before Mueller's conclusions are released.
— klarson (@kglarson) November 5, 2018
Because Mueller basically admitted he found nothing by coming out and saying he would wait until after mid-terms to release his findings.
— Ray B (@82Gbody) November 5, 2018
Everyone saw through it.
— Kevin Haig (@ski01kev) November 5, 2018
It’s not being discussed because information is coming out that the entire collusion hoax was a failed attempt to frame the Trump campaign to cover for Obama administration spying on the Trump campaign.

Great question! It’s been pretty much crickets on Russia since around the time of the Kavanaugh hearings.
— Kate Johnson (@kaideejay) November 5, 2018
The diversion attempt didn’t work, Kavanaugh came along and was a abysmal distraction attempt and then came election time ….
— Tom Martino (@tom_martino1) November 5, 2018
Same reason nobody is talking about Kavanaugh assaults. Once they see it’s not working for them they move on to the next big lie.
— Candice ?? (@bornintheUSA76) November 5, 2018
Part of the same play book as Kavanaugh fiasco. They dump it when it’s ineffective.
— Bee ? (@infobee) November 5, 2018
It’s for the same reason the Left and their media cohorts no longer talk about Justice Kavanaugh…They just keep throwing crap at the wall, no matter how outlandish the accusations are, hoping that something will eventually stick.
— Gary Hepker (@ghep69) November 5, 2018
Crickets heard regarding the Kavanaugh debacle as well. I read The Judiciary report. Where’s the media bringing that information to average Americans?
— CrazyCat (@CrazyCa74303444) November 5, 2018
Why aren’t Ds talking Kavanaugh anymore?
— “Z” (@fzimo) November 5, 2018
Or gun control. https://t.co/pwS99CUdFn
— 'Sources Say' is Greek for 'Fake News' (@NolteNC) November 5, 2018
Yeah, the Parkland gun control activists were supposed to be front-and-center this election. Guess people got tired of that.
And where are the DACA kids?
— Tina Snider (@elincomm) November 5, 2018
Yeah, what happened after all those school walkouts the media covered? Do the Democrats not care about the DREAMers anymore? Guess they weren’t polling well.
