Somewhere, a reporter did his job and reported some actual news: The military is preparing to send 5,000 more active-duty troops to the US-Mexico border to send a message to the thousands-strong migrant caravan headed north through Mexico.
That leaves it to anchors like CNN’s Carol Costello to ask the questions that we’re all asking; like, why does the deployment, dubbed “Operation Faithful Patriot,” have such racist overtones?
The US is preparing to send 5,000 troops to the border. It is called “Operation Faithful Patriot.” Why does everything tagged “patriot” or “freedom” seem tainted with racist overtones? https://t.co/1YL4j5KXuX

Everything tagged “freedom” seems tainted with racist overtones? Really?
Patriot and freedom are racial terms ??

In my experience, those who ask such ridiculous questions, or entertain such ridiculous notions, have never lifted a finger to serve their fellow man…not to be gender specific… DCC

Because they’re not. I proudly served my country to defend our way of life. I find your representation highly offensive.

Because you hate freedom and patriotism

Because you have a complex???♀️

Because looking through the prism of race is your default.

Because of the way you present it

Only because you see racism in every word uttered by people you politically disagree with

Oh! Oh! I can answer. It's because you dislike America.
Right?

Because you’re a liberal that sees a boogeyman around every corner & will make one up if there’s none there.

Because you can see anything if you're looking for it.

You’re projecting darling.

"Racist overtones" — left-wing code for "there isn't anything inherently racist about it, but I really want there to be for my political benefit, so I'll just throw out a vague accusation and hopefully con people into treating it as objective fact."https://t.co/4dTUdYCF6F
— David Henry (@imau2fan) October 29, 2018
Because conservatives use those terms a lot, and progressives scream "Racist!" at conservatives over everything.
— Mike Moss (@_MikeMoss) October 29, 2018
Has there ever been ANYTHING the “right” has undertaken that you haven’t found racist or sexist? You don’t have to answer that – rhetorical.
— The Chalk (@TyWebb21) October 29, 2018
I think this operation is pointless, but if you have issues with the words “freedom” and “patriot,” the problem is yours. Don’t let your biases overwhelm your ability to see reason.
— LoloBee (@lololoohoo) October 29, 2018
There's nothing racist about it. It's called insisting our immigration laws be obeyed.
— Rob (@rob44023) October 29, 2018
Securing our borders is only racist in the minds of those that need it to be in order for their rhetoric & cause to make any sense. Direct result of #IdentityPolitics. Our sovereignty & application of rule of law are national issues not race issues
— Peter J. Dawson (@PeterDawsonUSA) October 29, 2018
I guess it's better than "fast and the furious" where the US DOJ sold guns to Mexican drug cartels to increase violence and kill border patrol agents
