ANOTHER ONE? Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema accused stay-at-home moms of 'leeching off their husbands'

The amount of opposition research being hurled at Arizona Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema is so large that we can’t explain it. Did her opponent, Martha McSally, hire an exceptionally good opposition research firm? Are Internet detectives on the case trying to sink her campaign? Or has she just provided so much material over the years it’s impossible not to come across it?

Multiple videos have surfaced showing Sinema running down her own state as crazy and a “meth lab for democracy,” and now the Daily Caller is reporting on a 2006 interview with a Scottsdale nightlife magazine in which she accused stay-at-home moms of leeching off their husbands and boyfriends.

Isn’t this the sort of thing that CNN’s K-FILE is supposed to be unearthing? Funny how they keep getting scooped on this hot mess … wonder why?

Scott Morefield reports:

Arizona Democratic Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema in a 2006 interview characterized stay-at-home moms as “leeches” who essentially cash checks “off their husbands or boyfriends.”

“These women who act like staying at home, leeching off their husbands or boyfriends, and just cashing the checks is some sort of feminism because they’re choosing to live that life,” Sinema told Scottsdale nightlife magazine 944 in 2006. “That’s bullshit. I mean, what the f*** are we really talking about here?”

Sinema, the Phoenix New Times reported in 2012, “quickly walked back on [the stay-at-home moms statement], claiming that the interview was meant to be an over-the-top Daily Show-type spoof, and that she really did value moms of all stripes.”

Not a bad strategy: whenever you get caught saying something stupid that no one else found funny, just say you were trying to do a “Daily Show” bit.
