This, by far, is not the most explosive thing to come out of today’s hearing with Peter Strzok, but it really is worth a look to see just where the guy’s head was at while he was supposedly doing his job without bias.
Among the texts between Strzok and Lisa Page was one about the failed state Senate bid of FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe’s wife, Jill McCabe, a Democrat. Strzok attributed McCabe’s loss to the “ignorant hillbillies” who populate Loudon County, Virginia.
Soon after the texts were released, Loudoun Co. Supervisor Ron Meyer went to Twitter to correct the record:

At Thursday’s hearing, though, Strzok was given a chance to clarify his remarks.
Strzok says his "ignorant hillibillies" text was more about the rivalry between Virginia's Fairfax County and neighboring Loudoun County.
FWIW, Loudoun isn't exactly a scene from Deliverance.

Oh, so it was just some good-natured trash-talking of a rival county.
Dude is lying https://t.co/rJe2QTGPmJ

This was so insulting.

100% BS
— Truth Eternal (@Omerta_911) July 12, 2018
The ultimate irony of this text and his defense of it is that London Co is one of, if not the wealthiest county in the US with a median income of $115,000 (which is higher BTW than Fairfax Co’s). It also is not exactly overrun w Trump voters since HRC won it handedly in 2016.

Your average polo match in #LoudonCounty is literally swarming with hillbillies.
— Keith Naughton (@KNaughton711) July 12, 2018
Uhhh… isn't Louden county incredibly wealthy? Like, one of the wealthiest in the country?
— Meredith Morgan (@Merbear1980) July 12, 2018
Also the highest median income county and the center of fox hunting culture in the USA. Real hardbitten rednecks, that crowd. https://t.co/HcA3yhB2vg pic.twitter.com/Ub49rN8Lrm

Ah I live in #FairfaxCo and there is no perceived rivalry with #LoudounCo
— Penny Nance (@PYNance) July 12, 2018
There is none at all. He pulled that one out of his tukhus.
— ¡No Pasarán! (@nopasa) July 12, 2018
I’ve lived there and I don’t ever remember that being a thing.
— B. Miller (@BlaiseInKC) July 12, 2018
As someone who lived in fairfax county, this is complete and utter bs

By the looks of Strozk I would say *ignorant hillbillies* applies to anyone that is not an elite.
Sad day in America when someone so smug will say such hateful things about their fellow citizens. THAT IS NOT PATRIOTIC. That's conceit.— Nicnamered ?? (@nicnamered) July 12, 2018
He said he was struck at the difference in political views people had within Virginia only a couple hours away. Confirmation libs and the swamp are in their own little bubble. Shocked at different views in his own state let alone the rest of the country. #Trump2020 Landslide

What a smug jerk.
— Katrina (@KravGal) July 12, 2018
Doesn't matter what his explanation is. He can't make his words make sense in any context other than bias. How can the American people ever regain trust in the FBI?
— A M (@its500pm) July 12, 2018
Now we’re waiting for him to explain how texting that Donald Trump is a “loathsome human” and an “idiot” and that Hillary Clinton should win by a margin of “100,000,000 – 0” was just friendly ribbing.
