It’s a good thing that question is settled, because after the announcement of Justice Anthony Kennedy’s retirement Wednesday, NBC News political reporter Alex Seitz-Wald oddly tweeted this, as if it had any bearing on the day’s news whatsoever. We’re stumped.
Seems like a good time to remember that Donald Trump lost the popular vote by almost 3 million votes.

And?

Why would it be a good time to remember that? https://t.co/KDJ7UfndNo

And? Consolation prize? Participation trophy?
Show me one tweet, one artlicle, one post anywhere that mentions the popular vote pre-election.— Daniel (@Sinclair_D_F) June 28, 2018

Seems like a good time to remember that there is no "popular vote" to lose, no one campaigns to win it, it counts for nothing and there are no prizes. #PathTo270

Seems like a good time to remember that Hillary Clinton didn’t campaign in Wisconsin.

Seems like a good time to remember that we elect presidents through the Electoral College, and Trump won.

Knock yourself out. We play by electoral college rules not by yards gained.

I'll file that under "things that don't matter", right next to the Merrick Garland nomination ☺️

Wow. The election was a year and a half ago and you are still going on about the popular vote…which means nothing? Get a grip Alex Seitz-Wald. Move on from the past. Look forward, not back. #MAGA
