We know progressives went crazy when President Trump nominated Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, but California Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom is going to have to write a strongly worded letter to 7 of 9 justices who ruled that a Colorado baker was within his rights to refuse to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding, citing religious differences.
Considering SCOTUS ruled to legalize same-sex marriage just three years ago, it’s amazing how many justices got this case wrong and want to move America backward toward discrimination, hatred, and inequality.
What connects every one of us is the desire to love and be loved. For a business to deny you something as simple as a cake because you love someone of the same sex is wrong.
This is a move backwards, and a move toward discrimination, hatred, & inequality. https://t.co/eZqOUd0zc8

“What connects every one of us is the desire to love and be loved” — which is a very poetic way of the government telling you to bake the cake or else.
Why don't you love religious people enough to allow them to disagree with you without government compulsion? https://t.co/ONRceC1WyQ

What if someone loves G-d and they think it's more important to show their love for G-d than to placate your desire to make people do what you say they should do? https://t.co/gRDtir8j8J

So @gavinnewsom is suggesting we have to love one another, by govt edict? https://t.co/X08R90n6fd

Hi Gavin. They weren’t denied a cake, they were denied a specific custom message. Should a Muslim baker have to bake a custom cake for an gay atheist wedding? Should a Jewish artist have to take commissions for a neo-Nazi? How about we let people make decisions for themselves? https://t.co/tO80YBq6Nk

Gavin, you're lying: they weren't denied a cake.
The bakers offered to sell them a cake and decorating supplies, just not put on a message themselves that they felt that went against their religion.
Stop lying, liar. https://t.co/h6CSn8rRtx

Wrong. This is about people with religious values not being forced to do something that goes against their beliefs. If the business discriminates, it's as simple as finding a different shop who does not. The business loses business, but not their rights. https://t.co/REtTFn8PVe

Wrong…. again.
Gavin is making this about something that it is not.
Period.
End of story. https://t.co/Ty9HUqLCAQ— BayAreaFrau (@bayareahausfrau) June 4, 2018
This tweet is vintage @GavinNewsom – complete straw-man argument and totally missed what the case was about and what the #SCOTUS ruling entailed. It has NOTHING to do with discrimination, hatred, or inequality. https://t.co/AgXc3v9Eqo

What connects us is the desire to not have our speech compelled, our labor compelled, and our property commandeered. No more #CakeSlaves. Please take your soft fascism somewhere else. https://t.co/DuWsc0N0n1

I suggest SCOTUS have IKEA produce an "instructions" version of their decisions, with lots of pictures so even Governors could understand them. https://t.co/qOEwFbO0pK

Maybe read the decision and why it was a narrow one before commenting so dramatically and simplistically. https://t.co/n5apb9BonK

Californians take note: @GavinNewsom not being able to comprehend this ruling is reason enough to NOT vote for him. Ever. https://t.co/Mk1NL5l4cV
