As Twitchy reported earlier, Alfie Evans, who had been taken off of oxygen by the hospital and left to die passed away early Saturday morning. His parents had hoped to take him out of the U.K. hospital and transport him to Italy, which had granted him citizenship, but the U.K. courts would not allow him to leave.
Media Matters alumnus Oliver Willis now wants all of the hypocritical conservatives tweeting about Alfie’s case to either STFU or “back a robust U.S. system with expansive exhaustive care for all American children.”
I assume all the conservatives tweeting about the tragic UK child case will now back a robust us system with expansive exhaustive care for all American children, regardless of their wealth? No? Then STFU and stop being a hypocrite.

before obamacare, insurance companies held people's lives in their hands with almighty unquestionable power. the system isnt perfect now but thats the hellhole the conservatives suddenly concerned about a child's life wanted us to go back to.
— Oliver Willis (@owillis) April 28, 2018
Speaking of that “hellhole” that existed before Obamacare, didn’t Obama promise us that we could keep our doctors and keep our plans if we liked them? And what does this have to do with the Alfie Evans case and the courts ruling his parents couldn’t even take him home to live out his final days, let alone to a waiting hospital in Rome?

We have that, it's called St. Jude's, Children's Miracle Network, Catholic charities, Baptist Charities… https://t.co/0JEcQBEH28

We have Chip and Medicaid. Try harder. What we don’t have is a govt who sentences children to death and takes parental rights away. Try harder. https://t.co/vb1zzTBr6n

Socialized medicine is why this child was tortured to death, you imbecile. https://t.co/s5z9VTK4eK

You do realize the system you propose is exactly the system that killed Alfie. https://t.co/CkShzB3PQw

Issue at hand in this case wasn’t cost, but choice. Specifically, who gets final say about life or death matters. The state decided they get to choose when to let a toddler die. Italy was willing to step in at no cost to the NHS. This premise is disingenuous. https://t.co/Sie9Y5Z80e

Let’s hit conservatives when a child dies to make a political point!
Who does that? Oliver does.
Not a single conservative wants a healthcare system that takes parental rights away. https://t.co/Pz6uM4jTNB

When you consider the #AlfieEvans case and how it all worked out, this tweet literally makes no sense. *Especially* from a conservative perspective. But I guess calling cons hypocrites for not wanting *squints* Govt run healthcare makes sense in the mind of a liberal https://t.co/avf8eBVqX6

"It's better to let the state decide to kill someone else's child, so you can get your free, crappy healthcare. THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!" https://t.co/1OcZaejJy1

I assume all dishonest opinion writers tweeting about the same case will now realize that armed guards from private insurance companies weren’t holding a child hostage on behalf of the government. https://t.co/K9Bnjxv1T2

LOL. This is comedy gold.
"I assume all the conservatives pointing out a recent, glaring example the utter failure of socialized medicine WILL ALL NOW SUDDENLY SUPPORT SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!"
I don't know what Oliver's taking, but it can't be legal. https://t.co/Pklx5efWBU

Hypocrite who mocks conservatives for tweeting about a tragic UK child case that exposes fatal flaws in nationalized healthcare now expects conservatives to support nationalized healthcare.

Name one single verifiable case where a child died as a result of an insurance company refusing to pay for a life-saving operation. Just one. If you can’t find one, then maybe you should stfu. https://t.co/h23d37zx8G

No. The #AlfieEvans issue reveals why we don't want a government run health care system. The government mandated Alfie's death. His parents had no say in his health care, the court did. In a free market system, he would have received extensive care regardless.#AlfiesArmy https://t.co/keqLOfnEGf

We decry the natural consequences of giving government near-total control over health care, yet we're hypocrites unless we agree to . . . give government near-total control over health care? https://t.co/dhJzWzARHa
