GOP media guy and Daily Beast columnist Rick Wilson is pretty much the poster boy of the #NeverTrump movement, but on Wednesday one of his tweets went into and out of Stephen King’s brain, coming out the other side pretty mangled.
It’s worth noting that Wilson tweeted this hours before the school shooting in Parkland, Fla.:
You're a hell of a lot more likely to be killed in FL by an opioid overdose than MS-13. But muh base.
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) February 14, 2018
Wilson can now brag that Stephen King calls him “sport.”
Don't tell that to the parents of the kids who got shot in Broward County today, sport.
— Stephen King (@StephenKing) February 14, 2018
Wow, there’s really no connection at all there, besides a reflexive need to tweet about mass shootings.
Serious question … did King think that an MS-13 was a kind of assault rifle?

Stephen
Are you aware that MS-13 isn't a gun
I know it has letters and numbers
Are you aware that you're boosting Trump with this tweet

This Tweet was from before the shooting took place. It literally had nothing to do with it.

But now it does.
Stephen King managed to prove himself ignorant about guns, gangs, and drugs in just one tweet…
Almost impressive. https://t.co/qoHrHHE8ZH

But you should totally listen to this guy as he lectures about "sane" regulations he wants on these topics…
No way that could possibly backfire.

We’re still not sure King gets it, but he’s on a roll. Here’s Steven King’s son:
All the money in the world for tanks and guns and drones in the new budget. No plan at all to deal with the real and present threat of Russian interference in our elections. Tell me how this administration is tough on defense again? https://t.co/2IV3LNplbQ

King’s response?
More apt to be killed by opoids, no doubt, but maybe don't tell that to the kids who got shot in Broward County today. Or their horrified, grieving parents. https://t.co/W4mnOpmnqL

What?
Broward school shooting–There will be prayers from Blabbermouth Don, Pence the Grinch, and their rightwing cohorts. There will be no call for any sort of sane gun regs.
