As Twitchy reported, just about the same time that people were reading Variety’s exposé on Matt Lauer dropping his pants in his office and sending colleagues sex toys, Geraldo Rivera was tweeting that journalism is a flirty business, and in the current epidemic of sexual harassment allegations, maybe courtship is being conflated with predatory behavior.
Maybe Geraldo was just having trouble reading the room, what with everyone so tense about sexual harassment recently.
This issue is so red hot right now there is no room for any thought or opinion but hang em high. If News wasn’t (formerly) a flirty biz then how do we explain so many newsroom courtships that have led to happy marriages?

No, @GeraldoRivera, it's red hot because women now feel they can come forward with less fear of being bullied, ridiculed and mocked – although I'm sure you'll have a pretty good go… https://t.co/QHIRuMPEjl

Exposing yourself to a colleague in your locked office doesn’t sound very “flirty” to us, but we’re not journalists like Geraldo.
For the love of God @GeraldoRivera , stop tweeting! https://t.co/RIvHaLzsMa

I'm dying to know his definition of "flirty" is,especially in light of the horror stories we've heard just today.
I think we'll know soon, but not from @GeraldoRivera https://t.co/G9uTJzXKYd

Man, what is your definition of flirting? https://t.co/n2lG7TqkB8
— JGutierrezKrueger (@jolinegkg) November 29, 2017
It’s just courtship, yo.
Ah, yes, I remember when I courted my now-spouse by locking her in a room with me so I could show her my dick. https://t.co/PaJbhQp5gn

Lauer wasn't asking women on dates, he was pulling his junk out and sending them sex toys! Wtf is wrong with u?! https://t.co/NfNLeUzjTP
— Mac ??? (@marla_mulder) November 29, 2017
There's a difference between asking someone if they'd like to get coffee or asking someone if they want to see your dick. https://t.co/ZyOK7gk8wm
— Shawn Madden (@neddamnwahs) November 29, 2017
There is no comparison between flirting with women and showing them your penis unasked. One is sexual harassment. Do you know which?? https://t.co/wY053sMhWu
— JD (@johnjosephTX) November 29, 2017
Do you honestly not understand the difference between honorably courting someone vs using your position and seniority to sexually harass them? https://t.co/9e5if0l9ZF
— Damien (@FreeMrktCptlst) November 29, 2017
Dude, nobody is complaining about office romances. We're talking about men who use their power to harass and/or assault subordinates. O'Reilly, Ailes, Rose, Lauer. DO YOU UNDERSTAND? https://t.co/rH0A1io9Zg
