Ironic: Protesters in Berkeley rally to reclaim free speech, try to shut down photographers

Today was a day in Berkeley, Calif., so naturally there was a march. Saturday’s rally was named “No Hate in the Bay: March Against White Supremacy” and kicked off at noon. As Twitchy reported, a planned “Free Speech Week” featuring speakers like Milo Yiannopoulos was called off Saturday morning.

The march to “reclaim speech from alt-right trolls” went on as scheduled, though, and Los Angeles Times reporter Javier Panzar found himself being handed flyers asking that journalists and others observe a “no pictures” policy — “for your safety and ours.”

For your safety? Huh?

And then there was this:

So … you want to march to “reclaim free speech,” and yet you’re “warning” photographers, for the sake of everyone’s safety, not to take pictures that could be used to “harass and terrorize” marchers.
