Granted, it’s an opinion piece, so writer Dylan Gallimore obviously has an answer in mind to the question, “What should be the role of the press in the Trump era?”

It’s the sort of question that sends up red flags, like when Christiane Amanpour tweeted soon after the election that “now more than ever,” she and her fellow journalists needed to “commit to real reporting across a real nation.” It was nice that the press got a break while Barack Obama was in office, but the surprise election of Donald Trump meant the long nap was over.
Maybe it’s just us, but we’d prefer the press not re-envision its role with the election of each new president and instead just report the news.
The answer is obvious! However, the reality is, the press is simply a mouthpiece of the deep state, a tool for propoganda, & disinformation.

The Role Of the Press should be journalism, as always.
