As Twitchy reported, Dylann Roof was found guilty Thursday on all 33 counts in his trial over the Mother Emanuel AME Church massacre.
Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina issued a statement following the verdict that’s resonating with a lot of people.

Without meaning to politicize Scott’s statement (see below for that), in the context of Roof’s horrific crime, it’s striking how the simplest of words that seemed to ring hollow on campaign posters all year — Love Trumps Hate, Stronger Together — are imbued with new meaning. These aren’t celebrities parading their most paranoid fantasies and fears of the future before a camera — these are families who have met real hate and tragedy and moved forward with strength and dignity.
An addendum to Scott’s statement names the Rev. Clementa Pinckney, a senior pastor at Mother Emanuel AME and a member of the South Carolina Senate who was among those murdered.
10. I kept the text I sent my friend Clementa that night, a text never answered,&I simply pray that this begins to bring families some peace
