Teachers whose students didn’t simply walk out of class today to protest the election of Donald Trump were faced with the question of what to tell them. Sticking to the lesson plan would seem the obvious choice, but when you have a captive audience like that to act as your support group, it’s a shame to waste it.
Lily Eskelsen García, president of the National Education Association, encouraged teachers to connect online using the hashtag #ImTellingMyKids to share just what they’d be telling their kids, whom you might know better as your kids.
