After tough talk from Kerry, administration feels 'an increased mood in support of kinetic actions' in Syria

As Twitchy reported, audio leaked from a recent meeting between John Kerry and Syrian civilians included Kerry’s claim that he was the guy in the administration who had fought for military strikes against the Assad regime, but he lost the battle with other senior officials.

Suddenly, it seems the administration is getting serious about drawing a red line in Syria and enforcing it this time, according to Josh Rogin of the Washington Post.

Whatever happened to the secretary of state who handed the Russians that prop reset button? What a joke that was.

The main opposition from inside the Obama administration will come from President Obama himself, Rogin reports: “there’s little prospect President Obama will ultimately approve” U.S. military strikes.

Then, of course, there’s the U.N. Security Council to deal with. “One proposed way to get around the White House’s long-standing objection to striking the Assad regime without a U.N. Security Council resolution,” said an official, “would be to carry out the strikes covertly and without public acknowledgment.”
