Daddy, buy me a question! Clinton donors with big bucks can buy their kids access to Hillary

We’ve said it before to the mainstream press, and we can’t say it enough: Hillary Clinton’s just not that into you.

It’s clear by now that Clinton is comfortable treating journalists just like she treats the members of any other profession or demographic group dominated by Democrats — until she senses she needs something from you, she’s not going to bother putting any effort whatsoever into your relationship, no matter how much you’re with her.

There’s no reason to believe Clinton will hold even one token press conference before the election, and journalists aren’t just getting annoyed: they’re starting to grumble to the rest of us about their troubled relationship.

Donald Trump might have inspired the top-trending #WheresHillary hashtag, but even the New York Times of all venues ran a news (not opinion) piece Saturday headlined, “Where Has Hillary Clinton Been? Ask the Ultrarich.”

Actually, it’s the ultra-rich who get to do the asking, not that that’s any surprise. The Times notes that “at a single event on Tuesday in Sagaponack, N.Y., 10 people paid at least $250,000 to meet her, raising $2.5 million,” and calculates that Clinton, who left the White House dead broke, raised about $150,000 an hour at fundraisers over the last two weeks of August.

The press might not have access to ask the Democratic nominee a single question, but the kids of donors can pony up:

We thought hedge fund managers were bad people, but “for a donation of $2,700, the children (under 16) of donors at an event last month at the Sag Harbor, N.Y., estate of the hedge fund magnate Adam Sender could ask Mrs. Clinton a question,” the Times reports. We bet those were some hard-hitting queries.

Surely someone in Clinton’s press pool had rich parents who paid their way through the very best J-school, right? Get mom or dad to cough up a few grand and you could have an exclusive interview with the next president; say, $13,500 for five questions. (No bulk discounts, sorry.)
