Wear 'Make Mexico Great Again Also' hats to the next Trump rally? Sí se puede!

As if the meeting with President Enrique Peña Nieto in Mexico weren’t outreach enough, the Donald Trump campaign adopted a new strategy at Wednesday night’s campaign rally in Phoenix, extending a hand of economic cooperation through the space where the border wall may or may not be built.

Trump did well in Mexico by focusing on job opportunities and economic growth in the hemisphere, and the “Make Mexico Great Again Also” hats on stage underlined that message. That’s one heck of a pivot, but it beats Trump’s taco bowl tweet, not to mention Hillary Clinton’s relative absence from the public eye for yet another day.

No joke; they’re real, and they’re spectacular … aren’t they?

Hardly. The “Stop the Hate” placards carried by rioters outside Trump’s previous rallies in California and the Southwest were pretty revolting in context, appearing as they did alongside “Make America Mexico Again” slogans.

That photo angered Hillary Clinton supporters too, right? They’re still counting on her to build bridges, not walls.

Speaking of insulting, hasn’t anyone else grown weary yet of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama couching every progressive initiative in the protective coating of, “That’s not what America stands for”? It practically suggests that if you debate and disagree with this administration, somehow you’re not patriotic, and we’re sick and tired of people who say that.
