Vietnam vet says he was shot after expressing his support for Donald Trump

Cleveland breathed a heavy sigh of relief when the Republican National Convention wrapped up last Thursday with few reports of violence and only two dozen arrests, mostly in connection with a flag burning that didn’t go very well for the protester trying to light the Stars and Stripes.

WEWS reports that things got ugly after the convention left town, however.

Vietnam War veteran Paul Jones, Jr., 60, told police he was shot this week after a stranger overheard him expressing his support for Donald Trump.

Jones says he was talking politics with a friend at a neighborhood bar when a stranger butted in, left to retrieve a handgun from his car, and shot him in the thigh.

Detectives say the shooter will be charged with felonious assault when identified.
