On the run: ISIS releases video of Normandy church attackers pledging allegiance to [omitted]

When Secretary of State John Kerry declared earlier this month that ISIS is “on the run,” he wasn’t wrong; ISIS has been on the run across Europe all month, taking credit for multiple attacks in France, Belgium, and Germany.

Jenan Moussa, a reporter for Arabic Al Aan TV who tracks ISIS communications channels, notes that the terror group on Wednesday released video of the two men who took hostages at a church near Normandy and killed an 84-year-old priest by slitting his throat before being shot by police.

The video doesn’t show the attack, but the two men are shown pledging their allegiance to ISIS, much as Omar Mateen, who killed nearly 50 people in an attack on an Orlando nightclub, did in calls to 911. CNN reported Monday that the Syrian suicide bomber who injured 15 in Ansbach, Germany, also left behind a video pledging allegiance to ISIS.

When the Obama administration released partial transcripts of Mateen’s phone calls, the word “ISIS” was omitted, and references to Allah were changed to God, with “in Arabic” appended in parentheses — not that the American public had trouble filling in the blanks.

Will France do the same, or is this a special kind of stupid reserved for the current administration? France has suffered multiple attacks recently, including the killing of a police officer and his wife in their home outside of Paris, the Bastille Day slaughter in Nice, and the attack on the Catholic church near Normandy.

And that tally only takes into account terrorist attacks in Europe. And air conditioning is our biggest threat?
