Did federal authorities in Louisiana manage to prevent another round of cop killing with the arrest of three people in Baton Rouge this week? WBRZ-TV is reporting that ATF agents, sheriff’s deputies, and police raided a home Monday and might have foiled a plan to kill officers at a protest over the police-involved shooting death of Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge last week.

Trey Schmaltz and Chris Nakamoto report that authorities were following up on the robbery of a pawn shop from which seven or eight weapons were stolen. One of the three people arrested in the raid Monday, they report, “told investigators during questions that the guns and ammunition were stolen to be able to shoot and kill police during protests.”
Names of the suspects have not been released, but sources told Nakamoto that at least three weapons had been recovered.
