After Clinton 'cleared' by FBI, Washington Post fact checker downgrades her claims to 'whoppers'

Some people more than others are clinging to the myth that the FBI “cleared” Hillary Clinton of all wrongdoing by recommending Tuesday that no charges be filed. Essentially, FBI director James Comey determined that despite her actions, Clinton’s intentions were not criminal.

What’s not in question for anyone paying attention is that Clinton lied repeatedly about both her actions and her intentions. So while some argue that Comey cleared Clinton today, the remarks he made in doing so inspired the Washington Post’s fact checker to rethink the “two Pinocchio” rating he had awarded Clinton last August.

Before announcing that the FBI would not recommend an indictment, Comey announced that Clinton had, indeed, sent and received classified emails and should have known what was classified whether or not it was marked.
