It took an American, Howard Dean, to really capture the confused overreaction to Britain’s vote to leave the European Union. While many of the less educated white supremacists out there were celebrating the U.K.’s very own Independence Day, Dean tweeted a somber RIP, declared that “the sun has finally set on the British Empire,” and predicted “the end of the UK.”
That’s heavy stuff, but 29-year-old singer/songwriter Ellie Goulding, who unlike Dean is English, managed to outdo his take by waking to abject fear, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Piers Morgan, who managed to drive a little girl to tears in his role as a judge on “Britain’s Got Talent,” wasn’t too sympathetic toward Goulding either.
You need to live a little longer then, Ms Goulding.

@elliegoulding Young peoples naivety in believing they have a divine right to a bright future. THEY WILL HAVE TO EARN IT.
