After skipping a debate and promising to raise money for veterans at a campaign rally instead, Donald Trump announced that he’d raised $6 million for the cause. Last month though, his campaign’s adviser for veterans issues told the Daily Beast that tracking the money wasn’t high on his priority list, which led to more speculation about just where the $6 million had gone.
Worth noting that polling has shown that Trump's promises re: $ to veterans are a key driver of his negatives. People think he's a liar.

On Friday, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said the fundraiser actually netted about $4.5 million as a result of some large donors not following up on their pledges.
Trump had finally had enough of the speculation and tweeted about the fundraising effort Monday night, putting the number somewhere between $5 and $6 million but not specifying exactly where the money had gone, if anywhere.
While under no obligation to do so, I have raised between 5 & 6 million dollars, including 1million dollars from me, for our VETERANS. Nice!

How much of that money have they actually received?

Trump says “much” of it has been distributed to various veterans’ groups, which will certainly give journalists a project tomorrow as they dig into the claim.
Much of the money I have raised for our veterans has already been distributed, with the rest to go shortly to various other veteran groups.

Amazingly, with all of the money I have raised for the vets, I have got nothing but bad publicity from the dishonest and disgusting media.

Show the $1 million check. No one can find it. We're starting to think maybe, just maybe, you aren't trustworthy.

–Where is "all of the money" you've raised for the Vets? Last we heard, it disappeared into your Campaign or SuperPAC.

WHERE IS THE MONEY? THEY NEVER GOT IT

It would seem likely that any group that received a check for a million dollars or more would make some noise about it, even if the donor requested anonymity.
Stop whining you #manbaby! Money for vets should be out of goodness of one's heart, not for positive media coverage.

Regardless of how much of the money, if any, went to the intended recipients, Trump now finds himself the subject of another scandal:
