Astrophysicist Debbie Wasserman Schultz slams immoral Republicans for bending the universe

Neil deGrasse Tyson, who ranks right behind Bill Nye as the White House’s most respected scientist, humorously dedicated his large, pulsing brain to the topic of political endorsements on Monday, so who was keeping an eye on the cosmos?

That would be DNC chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who praised Attorney General Loretta Lynch while accusing North Carolina Republicans of having powers that put most comic book super villains to shame.

We weren’t aware that the government had either the responsibility or the power to afford individuals “dignity,”  but that’s another story; we’re dealing with something much, much larger here. That is, unless Wasserman Schultz is exaggerating a wee bit about North Carolina’s bathroom law.

Let that sink in, if your mind can even comprehend it: the GOP in North Carolina is trying to bend the moral arc of the universe away from justice. Maybe if we ask nicely, deGrasse Tyson can pop on later and explain where to point the Hubble Space Telescope to get a better view this moral arc; it would help those of us not in the Party of Science™.

Does North Carolina’s fight to preserve its own legislation on transgender rights threaten to tear a hole in the very space-time continuum?

NASA is still searching the cosmos for them, but it’s a small target.
