Was Florida Gov. Rick Scott scared off from endorsing Donald Trump?

There was a lot of media speculation that Donald Trump’s oddly timed Super Tuesday press conference had been called so that Trump could announce his endorsement by Florida Gov. Rick Scott. As it turns out, there was no “big announcement,” and rumors of Scott’s endorsement didn’t pan out.

Scott has confirmed today that he’s not endorsing anyone before the Florida primary. One governor who did endorse Trump is Chris Christie, who had the pleasure of introducing Trump at that press conference and was ridiculed for days over his facial expressions, most likely some sort of secret code to cue his security people to rescue him. (Christie has since clarified that he wasn’t being held hostage.)

No offense, but “I trust the voters” is a pretty weak excuse not to use your political influence to help undecided voters settle on a candidate.
