Years later, Mitt Romney is still known for mentioning his “binders full of women,” a phrase which “Jeopardy” turned into a category at least twice and which led female protesters to fashion binder costumes out of cardboard.
Romney: binders full of women.
Kasich: kitchens full of women.
GOP backslide continues.

We are moving backwards, from binders to kitchens to Kasich's campaign… https://t.co/rJqTo1qchU

Ohio Gov. John Kasich made a similar, unforgivable gaffe during a speech today when he remembered the women in the ’70s who left their kitchens to put up yard signs and go door to door campaigning for him. Salon was the outlet to play the “misogynist” card, although TIME tweeted that Kasich was “upbraided” by an audience member. Even that sounds like a strong word for what actually happened.

Note to #Kasich :
We women don't live in kitchens. Go back to the 1950s loser.— LiberalsAreSmarter (@SmartLiberal) February 22, 2016

Glad Kasich approves of women leaving their kitchens to campaign. Do they need to make dinner first? #KasichRecipe pic.twitter.com/9E8VogW8aM

It will probably take a few more days to come up with a convincing “kitchen” costume.
