The President and first lady issued a Kwanzaa greeting today, noting that the seven principles of Kwanzaa “are also shared values that bind us as Americans.” Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton also tweeted her own Kwanzaa greeting, even changing her avatar to look like a Kinara.
Wishing everyone the best this Kwanzaa. To all celebrating—Bill and I send you our warmest wishes. -H

Maybe Clinton’s Kwanzaa wish came just a bit too soon after her disastrous claim on her website that she was just like your abuela. Mix her husband’s legacy of 100,000 new cops on the street into today’s #BlackLivesMatter movement, and the recipe for failure was once again perfected.

So you can acknowledge Kwanzaa but can’t acknowledge the role you played in the mass incarceration of blacks? @HillaryClinton

It IS possible to honor a diff community's traditions w/o injecting yourself in the center or putting it to "use". @finneyk @HillaryClinton
