Former Obama adviser singles out Sen. Marco Rubio for missing votes, 'quitting'

It was no secret before Wednesday night’s GOP presidential debate that candidates would be attacked for missing votes in the Senate while campaigning for president. Is that really a concern for the majority of the American public, or just Washington insiders?

Former senior advisor to President Obama, Dan Pfeiffer, agreed in general, but singled out Sen. Marco Rubio for not just missing votes, but quitting.

It’s not a secret that Rubio is leaving the Senate. After Donald Trump questioned Rubio’s missed votes in the second Republican debate, Rubio explained that he was not running for re-election to the Senate but rather running for president. “I’m not missing votes because I’m on vacation,” Rubio told CNN. “I’m running for president so that the votes they take in the Senate are actually meaningful again.”
