Look who else is calling the Select Committee on Benghazi a partisan attack on Hillary Clinton

Just as the media has extracted the words “stuff happens” from Jeb Bush’s statement on the Umpqua Community College shooting and is milking it for all it’s worth, Democrats are taking House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s observation that Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers are dropping “because she’s untrustable” as proof that the Select Committee on Benghazi has never been anything but a partisan witch hunt.

The Clinton campaign even rushed out a video to (literally) highlight the partisan attack on her.

Senator Barbara Boxer was the first to use McCarthy’s words to appeal to House Speaker John Boehner to disband the committee. Others have followed, but it took a serious lack of self-awareness for Clinton, secretary of state during the terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans, to allege in an interview with “Today” that the committee was assembled to exploit those deaths “to go after me for political reasons.”

Perhaps the committee wouldn’t have existed had Clinton and the Obama administration not sent out Susan Rice to blame the “spontaneous” attack on an offensive, anti-Muslim YouTube video.
