President who swapped five Taliban prisoners for deserter thinks he can recognize a 'bad deal'?

Surprising absolutely no one, the midnight deadline to strike a deal with Iran on its nuclear program has been extended until July 7. President Obama made the announcement today, but it seems as though he and his secretary of state aren’t on quite the same page.

“Given past behavior on the part of Iran, that [agreement] simply can’t be a declaration by Iran and a few inspectors wandering around every once in a while,” the president told the press. That’s strange, because it was just two weeks ago when Secretary of State John Kerry announced that Iran’s past behavior was off the table and insisted that negotiators weren’t “fixated on Iran specifically accounting for what they did at one point in time or another.” Maybe that was just the painkillers from Kerry’s leg surgery talking.

Was Obama simply talking tough in front of the press today when he insisted, “I will walk away from the negotiations if in fact it’s a bad deal”? Hale Razor looks at his past behavior.
