CNN’s Don Lemon seems to appear on the cable channel for two reasons: first, to clown around with celebrity llamas or tool around the city in complete darkness in CNN’s much-ridiculed “Blizzardmobile”; and second, to inspire hate tweets (and even live hecklers) accusing him of being an “Uncle Tom,” modern day house negro, and turncoat mofo, to name a few.
We’re not sure in which category to plug Lemon today, after he appeared in a special segment entitled, “Does this offend you?” Yes, the transparent effort by one of TV’s least interesting news anchors to appear edgy and controversial does offend us. Who wants to break it to him that Cornel West already dropped a variant of the N-word on CNN hours earlier?
