It was last week that the Second Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that New York State was within its rights to ban “Choose Life” license plates on the grounds that they are “patently offensive” and could provoke incidents of road rage.
"Choose Life" is "patently offensive"? So says a federal appeals court in NY: http://t.co/wFOTcULHVS #prolife

Should also be mentioned that the DMV's justification is that Choose Life plates are so political they could lead to violence.

It’s particularly noteworthy that Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, would question the decision. After all, the Family Research Council was the target of its own “rage” incident in 2012 when Floyd Lee Corkins shot and injured a security guard at the headquarters of the group, which was listed by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a hate group.
The DMV also claimed that “Choose Life” was politically divisive and could be perceived as government-sponsored speech; besides, pro-life motorists were free to cover the rest of their cars with pro-life stickers.
@LifeNewsHQ A court rules against freedom of speech. Offensive speech is still speech. As we move away from free speech we move to slavery

@LifeNewsHQ The Second Circuit panel have made themselves ridiculous with this decision. Embarrassing.

Every time #prochoice censors the #prolife view, it screams "We have no good argument." Happens all the time… http://t.co/T0K5WUupNq
