Last October 9, #shawshooting became a trending topic after St. Louis police shot and killed 18-year-old VonDerrit Myers, who witnesses say was carrying a sandwich that police officers mistook for a gun. St. Louis police chief Sam Dotson held a press briefing late that night to explain that Myers did indeed have a firearm and fired three shots at a police officer before his gun jammed, but he kept pulling the trigger.
Protesters gathered outside the home of St. Louis prosecutor Jennifer Joyce tonight, where they were maced by police and some reportedly arrested.

This is a non violent protest. She wouldn't come talk to us this morning. #VonDerittMyers parents deserve answers.

Talked to @ChiefSLMPD . He said 5 or 6 arrested. One protester wiped mace on him and will be charged with assault, he said.

The ink on my pillow-sign is running from all the liquid pepper spray it absorbed while I was using it to block me. pic.twitter.com/MLOyfp9E4c

The fact that they have sprayed people is un-fucking-believable. Like come on.

Those tweets are from a protest outside @JenniferJoyceCA home in #STL; follows her decision not to charge officer in #VonDerittMyers death.

So ya'll arrestin peaceful protestors but not the cop who killed #VonDerrittMyers? Ok. Ya'll think it's a damn game…

This video gives a very good idea of the “night action” and why police would have been called to the scene. [Caution: Explicit language.]
