'Treason'? Speaker Boehner says Netanyahu will address Congress on danger of radical Islam

Anyone who thinks they’ve detected just a little bit of tension between the administration and House Speaker John Boehner over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming address to Congress will quickly note that Boehner’s tweet includes the administration’s banned phrase, “radical Islam.” Or perhaps Twitter’s 140-character limit kept Boehner from writing that Netanyahu would address “violent extremism based on a warped view of Islam.”

Boehner’s linked Facebook statement is a brief one:

The House of Representatives is part of an equal branch of the government. We had a right to invite The Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu – בנימין נתניהו to address the Congress about the serious threat that Iran and radical Islam both pose to the world.

Look forward to having him on March 3rd.

Many on the Left can’t see Boehner’s invitation as anything but a shot at President Obama, and Boehner’s tweet only served to kick that hornets’ nest again.

Most Americans? Really?

Is Boehner a traitor and a white supremacist?

Of course not. That would be like trying to imagine the Congressional Black Caucus flying to Cuba to meet personally with Raul and Fidel Castro.

Netanyahu’s address, or this meltdown over “treason”?
