Secretary of State John Kerry was blasted yesterday after reportedly saying that Israel is in danger of becoming an “apartheid” state. On Monday, Kerry backtracked a bit, issuing an official statement, “On Support for Israel.”

“I want to see a two state solution that results in a secure Jewish state and a prosperous Palestinian state, and I’ve actually worked for it,” wrote Kerry. “I will not allow my commitment to Israel to be questioned by anyone, particularly for partisan, political purposes.”

Now @chrislhayes et al are defending Kerry's statement that he wouldn't make if he had a do-over.
