In a Facebook post Friday night, Cracker Barrel announced that it is removing selected products from its stores following the firestorm over Phil Robertson’s comments in GQ magazine.

Cracker Barrel’s mission is Pleasing People. We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture.

We continue to offer Duck Commander products in our stores.

We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation.

We continually evaluate the products we offer and will continue to do so.

Many on Twitter decided to reevaluate their relationship with Cracker Barrel.

“Duck Dynasty” sponsor Under Armour distanced itself from Phil Robertson’s religious beliefs but signaled the company would continue its sponsorship, while Christian-based truck suspension company Skyjacker distinguished itself by offering full-throated support for Robertson, God and country.

[Update]

Has Cracker Barrel only removed A&E merchandise while leaving Duck Commander products on the shelves? Or have the stores removed all merchandise with Phil Robertson’s image?

TMZ (yes, grain of salt) reports that Cracker Barrel stores removed items with Phil Robertson’s face on the packaging.

Seems like some clarification from Cracker Barrel is in order.

Editor’s note: The title of this post has been revised to reflect the uncertainty about Cracker Barrel’s statement. We will update readers if Cracker Barrel offers clarification.

[Update]

Twitchy reached out to two Cracker Barrel locations. One was unable to confirm what had been pulled from the shelves. An employee at the other location said “anything with [Phil Robertston] on it” is not being sold while the company “evaluates the situation.” During a second call, he confirmed that A&E branding did not factor into the decision.
