OFA ghouls organizing 'Newtown anniversary events'

Never mind how the families of Newtown, Conn., would prefer to observe the one-year anniversary of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary massacre. Organizing for Action is hijacking Dec. 14 to stage its own “remembrance events” across the nation.

In an email, OFA promises to give organizers “the resources you need to ensure your event is a powerful reminder of what we lost a year ago, and a reminder that we as a nation need to do more to prevent gun violence and keep our communities safe.” That certainly sounds more like a series of gun control rallies than a solemn remembrance, doesn’t it? If it doesn’t yet, check out the official event description from barackobama.com of the “day of action”:

It has been one year since the tragic events in Newtown, Connecticut, where 26 Americans lost their lives to gun violence. Despite overwhelming public support for expanding background checks for gun sales, Congress has failed to act. Join local supporters as we remember Newtown and ask Congress: What will it take to make our communities safer?
