The BBC’s “Doctor Who” owned most of Twitter’s trending topics this afternoon, as the sci-fi show celebrated its 50th anniversary. BBC America broadcast the special at 2:50 p.m. in the States so it would be seen simultaneously with those viewing in the U.K.
Hashtags included #Geronimo, #DrWho50thLive, #whovian, #DrWho50th, #DayoftheDoctor and more. Google got into the spirit too, with a playable doodle of the show’s 11 Doctors.
