Obamacare navigator caught on tape fired; Three others suspended

As Twitchy reported yesterday, James O’Keefe and Project Veritas most recently set their sights (and hidden cameras) on Obamacare “navigators” in Dallas, Texas, who were caught on tape recommending an applicant not declare past earnings, as well as lie to reduce premiums, among other things.

Today, KDFW reports that the Urban League of Greater Dallas, the recipient of a navigator grant, has fired one of the workers caught on tape and suspended three others:

The Urban League said in a statement on Tuesday it “does not condone, nor would we ever sanction, misleading the public or any individual who seeks our assistance about any issue, and particularly in this case, an issue as critical as health care.”

The Urban League said the person fired was a “part-time receptionist trainee” who was not authorized to speak on behalf of The Urban League or act as a Navigator and said it supports decertifying three “Navigators-in-training” in the video.

The Urban League also called for the unedited video of the incidents to be released.

It sounds like they’ll be getting more video; perhaps more than they’d like.

In August, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the winners of $67 million in navigator grants. Navigators are to be trained to serve as in-person resources for Americans who want help shopping for and enrolling in the Health Insurance Marketplace.
