The fact that the Public Broadcasting Act of 1967, which paved the way for PBS and NPR, is 46 years old today is certainly impressive. As taxpayers, we wouldn’t mind a “thank you” from Cookie Monster ourselves. But aren’t he and Big Bird and NPR old enough to be out on their own now?
